Longing for Freedom: Texts from Sudan

Afrikanische Perspektive - Sehnsucht nach Freiheit: Texte aus dem Sudan

The writer Dr Ishraga Mustafa Hamid initiated the Malkat Ed-Dar Literary Scholarship in 2021. It bears the name of the first Sudanese woman to publish a novel. That was in the 1950s. The scholarship provides material support to young Sudanese authors and honours their work. In writing workshops, they write texts, discuss and analyse them.

Seeds and Suns Play

A theatrical performance for children was held in one of the safe areas in Sudan, on the occasion of World Environment Day, featuring a children’s play written by the poet and playwright Afeif Ismail, titled “Seeds and Suns”.

Recycling and Sewing Project in Cairo

A sewing and recycling project for refugee women and girls in Cairo, in collaboration with Wamdat Amal. Thank you all, who supported this project. First of all, Franz Schmidjell and others from UK and the poet Mujahid Adam.
